Well as many of you know the Pope John Paul II passed away on Saturday. I will admit that I am a Catholic and that he was a great leader and inspiration for me. There is not enough good things I can say about him. He was not only a spiritual leader for the Catholics but also reached out and bridged gaps between the Church and the Jewish community.
His background is an interesting one. John Paul II grew up in Poland and his parents were killed during the Nazi invasion when he was twenty. He grew up to be the first non-Italian Pope in more than four hundred and the youngest since 1800s.
Hopefully the church can find any leader that can live up to the legacy.
